Originally from Australia where she earned degrees in Education and Counseling, Kate also holds an MFA in Directing from the University of Portland. She is a freelance theatre professional, arts in healthcare consultant, educator and personal guide. She has been a horse gentler and recently moved to Cordes Lakes in Nthn AZ. where she is making embarking on a glorious new real-life relationship and re-commitment to the arts. She is also consultant with the Society for Arts In Healthcare and has worked with organizations from the East to West Coast.
Kate was long time Adjunct Faculty at Linfield College, both the main campus and the Linfield-Good Samaritan Nursing school. She taught and directed in the Theatre Department and also developed a new Arts and Wellness Course. Over many years Kate has also run theatre and writing workshops at a range of venues including the Portland VA, Society for Arts in Healthcare conferences, in medical schools, for tertiary academic staff, and in small rural communities.
Kate created Performing Wellness ™ (see her website for details) and out of that co- founded the Well Arts Institute in Portland, Oregon. She was for many years the Education/Outreach Director and Artistic Associate at Artists Repertory Theatre, Portland.

Playwright credits include professional productions of Composers In Skirts and Singing Our Way Home. Sky….Diamonds, about a family whose communication dynamics are intensified by having a relative with Alzheimer’s, has had two successful public readings.
Numerous plays for young audiences have also been produced.
Professional directing credits include: Secret Bridesmaid’s Business, Quilters, The Weir, Sweet Phoebe, and numerous staged and new play readings. As guest director at Linfield College credits include: Mother Courage, Antigone, Reckless, Voice of The Prairie, and Keely and Du. On stage Kate has played lead roles in The Gingerbread Lady, Medea, Equus, Painting Churches, Eleemosynary, and Bedroom Farce.
Kate’s book Personal Magic: Conscious Empowerment through Creativity and Spirit will be out early Nov., 2011. She continues to consult with organizations incorporating the arts into healthcare, offer workshops, give talks and do performances of the work created through the Performing Wellness process.
